Some stories start quietly. Last September on Pag, young Polish pizzaiolo Maciej Gadomski earned his place at the prestigious Caputo Cup final in Naples after competing at D10’s Pizza Fantasista during the Mainardi Food & APN Pizza Cup. At the time, it felt like a big moment. Looking back now, it was only the beginning.
What happened in Naples was something few people could have predicted. Maciej arrived as the only competitor representing Poland in the national teams category, which meant he needed someone beside him on stage. That is when his younger brother Gustav stepped in.

A Brother Steps In
Gustav is only 14 years old and originally came to Naples simply to support his brother. Instead, he found himself standing on one of the biggest pizza stages in the world, surrounded by some of the most respected pizzaioli and pizza masters from across the globe.
Both brothers come from the family bistro Little Madza Lubi in Czeczotki, the same place from which Maciej’s journey toward Pag began last year. From there, the story continued through D10’s Pizza Fantasista, Pag Pizza Academy, and finally Naples.
From Pag Pizza Academy to the World Stage
This is the kind of story Pag Pizza Academy was created for. Not only to teach dough, fermentation, oven work, and technique, but to help open real doors for young people who have discipline, curiosity, and love for the craft.
Seeing two young pizzaioli connected with Pag step onto the stage in Naples is a quiet but powerful recognition of the academy’s idea. Sometimes education is not only about certificates or courses. Sometimes it is about creating an environment where talent gets noticed, encouraged, and pushed toward the next opportunity.

Top 10 in the World
When Maciej and Gustav stepped in front of the jury, the room was full of experienced professionals, world-class pizza makers, and national teams with far more years behind them. But the two brothers showed focus, professionalism, and energy far beyond their age.
The final result made the story even bigger. Representing Poland, Maciej and Gustav finished 9th among national teams at the Caputo Cup in Naples, placing themselves among the top 10 national pizza teams in the world.
And yes, they finished ahead of Italy. For two young pizzaioli, one of them only 14, that is not just a result. That is a proper pizza story.
"A story that started on Pag continued in Naples — and finished among the best national teams in the world."
Why This Matters
For D10 and Pag Pizza Academy, this is not only about one competition result. It is about seeing a real path take shape: a young pizzaiolo comes to Pag, earns a place in Naples, brings his brother into the story, and together they show that talent can come from anywhere when it gets the right chance.
That is the kind of recognition we are most proud of. Not loud, not forced, but real. Pag was one of the stops on their journey, and we are grateful that a small part of this story started here.
Maciej and Gustav, congratulations. Bravo for the result, bravo for the courage, and bravo for showing that the next generation of pizzaioli is already here.
